WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY 2014

The service was held at St Peter Apostle Church and every pew was filled. Father John welcomed the congregation made up of people from the “Christians in Leamington” churches.

The singing of the hymns was impressive.

During the service Jonathan Chilvers from the Salvation Army updated the congregations about the Food Banks in the Leamington and Warwick areas; Rev. Brian Nash from the Vineyard Church spoke about a new CTL initiative which he is leading to help children who are permanently excluded from school and Rev James Church commissioned a new group of Street pastors who will give assistance to late night revellers on the streets of the town.

Rev. Anthony Orr from the Baptist Church gave the sermon based on the text from John 4:27-38 “Open your eyes and look at the fields, they are ripe for harvest”.

Refreshments were served in the Parish Centre at the close of the service.

STARS AND ANGELS GAVE THE SIGN

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY MORNING –

Thursday January 2nd 2014

Another happy morning was spent with children and parents from the neighbourhood of the church.

To help us think about Epiphany we made crowns to remind us we are all wise people looking for Jesus. We also made  Star and Angel Sticks and Treasure Maps which help to show us the way to the treasure of Heaven.  Of course there has to be food involved, and Margaret and Jean helped the children make some gorgeous, delicious stained glass biscuits.
Thanks to all who helped and for kind words of support and encouragement and especial thanks to Jane for planning and organising the morning.
