What Child is this?
The children’s activity mornings have now become a regular feature of our church’s calendar and Monday 4th of January saw our third Christmas one. We took as our theme “What child is this?’ and focussed on the gift of a new life in the shape of our Saviour born a baby in Bethlehem that first Christmas Day. We helped the children understand that God sent his son as a baby so he could experience exactly what it was like to live as a person on earth – even to fleeing to Egypt to be safe from King Herod. As always we had adult volunteers to help during the morning and those who were not at the morning event kept the occasion and its participants in their prayers.
We started the morning by drawing full size pictures of ourselves.

.We learned how Jesus and his parents had to flee from Bethlehem to Egypt to escape from King Herod. It reminded us of the refugees who are fleeing their homeland of Syria because they fear for their lives.
.
Finally, we enjoyed action songs which told us of the great love that God has for each one of us.
