Mothering Sunday 2011

The Uniformed organisations – Beavers, Scout Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides – attended the Mothering Day Service led by the Revd. John Carrier, a retired URC Minister. The theme of the service was how mothers love and care for us throughout our lives in the same way as God always loves and cares for us.  Photographs were shown, on the large screen, of the children participating in their weekly activities and how they had prepared for Mothering Sunday during the past weeks.  Two of the children read a passage from the Bible, others said prayers which they had written and others showed letters that they had written to their Mums.
Daffodils were distributed to all the mothers present and to all the other ladies of the congregation.
