LAST NIGHT AT THE PROMS
Saturday September 13th at 7.30pm
What a wonderful evening we had! The room was decorated with Union Jack bunting; several people wore “Proms gear” and a friendly atmosphere pervaded. We had a small display of World War 1 artefacts which people perused during the evening. We watched a little of the live BBC programme from the Albert Hall and then had a break for our fish and chip supper which was really hot and delicious. We all enjoyed the second half of the television programme. We joined in a nationwide singalong of Mary Poppins songs, led, at the Albert Hall, by Ruthie Henshall, enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of the Albert Hall and sang “Rule Brittania” with gusto. It was a splendid evening enjoyed by all and over £100 was raised for our new Mission project “Toilet Twinning”.
