April 24th 2010

Since February, the Wednesday Lunch Club ladies and their friends have knitted 38 teddies, 29 jumpers, 71 blanket squares, 2 blankets and have supplied 8 empty margarine tubs for the storage of screws and nails in the woodwork workshops, to be sent by the Tools with a Mission charity (TWAM) to needy people world wide.

In many countries of the world people have few skills, little education and no means of earning a living. A switch from aid dependency to self sufficiency is impossible without help. The Tools with a Mission Project enables people to earn a living and to support themselves.

The project has also supported the work of orphanages in Zambia and Uganda by providing books and computers for the schools and tools for the skills and trade centre. The teddies and blankets will go to some of the children in these orphanages.
