Banner, Bunting and Books

Two afternoon sessions saw the making and completion of a lovely Good Friday banner which will be used at the Raising of the Cross service in Christ Church Gardens on Good Friday. This annual service starts outside Holy Trinity Church at 11.45am with a short Bible Reading and a prayer followed by a Silent Witness procession to the gardens at the top of the Parade.

The service is organised by Churches Together in Leamington (CTL) and the Revd. James Church (Chair of CTL) has asked all participating churches to make a banner to display at the outdoor service. The banner will proclaim the name of the church and also convey a Good Friday message.

Everyone was extremely busy and as well as making a banner and bunting we also covered donated books with brown paper in readiness for a stall with a difference at the Craft Fair on October 3rd 2020. The stall will be called “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” and not until the book is bought will the contents be revealed. This will be a Blind Date with a Book though there will be a brief precis written on the cover just to give a guideline.
